Hadley is such a little doll! Her whole face lights up when she smiles, and she has so many cute expressions
Warmed my heart! She was a great little model and very cooperative, but when she was done, that was it! I’m looking forward to our next session together

Taylor was great to work with and was so comfortable in front of the camera. The ones with the lace, don’t you think she totally looks like Bella from Twilight? I kept thinking, Oh my gosh, she could be a movie star! But she’s doing something much more noble. She’s studying to be a nurse and will be joining the National Guard this coming year. I’m looking forward to another session with Taylor when she returns from training and we’ll do some with her in uniform. Can you imagine how beautiful those shots will be? And, here’s my latest way for displaying images on my blog. Just click on the thumbnails and the full version will open up. Cool!

This is my daughter, Ariel, and she is pregnant with my first grandchild. She and her husband Mike were visiting from San Fransisco during the week of Thanksgiving and we made time for a maternity shoot. She’s 7 months along now, and is having a boy!
How amazing life is – to watch my child grow up, fall in love and marry, experience the miracle of creating a new life, and become a parent herself. Yes, I’m a bit emotional
.
I hope you enjoy the slideshow and portraits as much as I enjoyed creating them. The song is called “Daughters” and certainly goes with this session beautifully.

My nephew Hayden is getting quite famous! This is the second time a photo of him has been found in use. This time was by a friend of his that was traveling and happened to see this ad in a Sky Mall magazine. Here is the same ad online:

Here’s the original (before they flipped and cropped it):

BHS recently had a contest for Teen Read Week, and the prize was a celebrity portrait shoot and custom READ poster to be hung on the media center wall with the other Celebrity READ posters. I was asked if I’d do the poster for them, and I was happy to say yes! I love this kind of work. The contest involved the student body writing a short report on their favorite book. The media center staff chose 10 from each of the 4 grades, and hung the reports on the wall for the student body to vote for their favorite. Eckho won with her report of the story The Million Dollar Bear, a story her mother read to her when she was small. It’s about a teddy bear worth a million dollars that was kept in a vault, but the bear longed to be loved for who he was. With such a cute girl and story to work with, we thought it would be fun to work with the theme of the book.
The poster is 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall, framed, and is currently on display in the BHS Media Center, so if you’re in the area, stop by and check it out
Congratulations Eckho!!!
This was such a fun shoot. We did this at their home and it went from traditional portraits to very unusual! They had a trampoline – it was getting dark – they were up for anything – so was I! Check it out… play button lower left.
Megan designed and made this dress and needed some fashion style photos of it for a project she’s doing. We ended up laughing pretty hard
I was the wedding photographer for when Shayna and Justin were married, and I was looking forward to seeing them again and meeting their adorable daughter, Jaden. She and I became good friends and she ended up wanting to spend more time behind the camera helping me than in front of it
We met at Lake Walcott and were all over the park for part of their session. We even put Jaden in a tree. She liked that! Then we went over to the old corrals in time for that magical golden light to do some western style pics, since this family is totally western lifestyle. Jaden in denim overalls and her daddy’s cowboy hat – which she removed as fast as only a two year old can do, which tested the speed of my shutter finger – is just too cute! This amazing family consists of 40 people! Not counting weddings, this is the largest family portrait I’ve done. They were all beautiful and very cooperative, even the little ones. Do you see the threatening dark clouds in the background? Well, it wasn’t a threat. There was thunder, lightening, and a breeze, but about 10 minutes before we were finished it unleashed all it’s fury with a blinding dust storm and strong gusty winds that hit like a Mac truck. Several family members ran to help me grab lights and gear just as they were about to all blow over and carried them to a sheltered area by their house. Long hair, skirts, tripods, and light stands don’t go with strong gusty wind real well. But we made it through and finished the session. This was like an extreme family portrait session, but anyone who knows me very well knows I like extreme

Here is Rendi and Greg’s wedding reception slide show. They were married a couple days previous in Salt Lake City, Utah. The reception was held in Rendi’s family’s back yard and it was so beautiful! As you probably know from previous posts, Rendi’s mom owns and operates the Cameo Special Events, and pulled out all the wonderful stuff
There was a dance floor, photo booth, theater, horse drawn carriage to take guests to and from the parking area, beautiful cakes, great food, and lots more cool stuff! The weather was threatening right up until start time, but cooperated for the duration of the reception. How nice! To watch with music, click the play button at lower left…
